Educational resources, not medical treatment.
Hewston Higgins books and resources are designed to support learning, discussion, reflection and classroom engagement. They are not diagnostic tools, medical devices, therapy programmes or substitutes for personalised advice from qualified health, education or safeguarding professionals.
Neurodevelopmental and SEND topics
When a resource discusses ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, anxiety, sensory needs or other differences, it is intended to help children and adults explore experiences in accessible language. Individual children can present very differently, and no book should be used to decide whether a child does or does not have a diagnosis.
Evidence language
Statements about educational approaches are based on recognised guidance where cited. That does not mean a specific Hewston Higgins product has been clinically tested or proven to improve a diagnosis or health outcome.
Safety and safeguarding
If a child is distressed, at risk, discloses abuse, or appears to need medical or mental-health support, responsible adults should follow their organisation's safeguarding procedures and seek appropriate professional help. In an emergency, use the relevant emergency service.
Schools
Teachers and SEND staff remain responsible for professional judgement, curriculum decisions, reasonable adjustments and the suitability of individual activities for their pupils.
